Riding with the F-One SK8 650/160/80 foil on a Skywalker Stylo 50L board and the 2024 Duotone Unit 4m wing has been an incredible experience. This setup has been my go-to for the past 8 days, providing a smooth and thrilling ride. Additionally, I rode my SK8 950 during a couple of morning sessions when the wind was too light for the smaller foil. The difference between the SK8 650 and SK8 950 i...

Rediscovering the Thrill: My Return to Pumpfoiling with the F-One JAM 1600 🤩
Просмотров 6293 месяца назад
Long story short, today I took out my new F-One #JAM1600 for a pump session. Spoiler alert: it's an excellent foil for pumping! After a two-month hiatus due to a spine injury from my last session in March, I was hesitant to try pumpfoiling again. I initially planned for a light wind wingfoil session today, but the wind was barely there-just 3-4 knots. After some reflection, I decided to try a d...

I was eager to see how it would perform in the barely-there winds of about 6 to 7 knots, especially given my weight of 95 kg fully suited up in a wetsuit. Out there, I felt the JAM 1600 glide effortle...

    Super opcja! Xglide1700? Chyba dobry front na takie falki, to był mój ulubiony foil a teraz zamieniłem na pump1700- lepszy glide ale już nie ta sama prędkość i zwrotność

      O dzięki za info. Byłem właśnie ciekawy, czy tym nowym 1700 można sobie coś poprawić, ale widzę, że trzeba ewentualnie przesiąść się od razu na 1500. Wtedy będzie szybciej i zwrotniej. Aktualnie latam na JAM 1400 i planuję znaleźć coś koło 1400, ale sam nie wiem, jeszcze co. Optymalnie coś z F One bo mam do tego już cały set. Lub może X-Glide 1450 jak jeszcze gdzieś znajdę. Pozdro!

      Ja już poszedłem w takoona i z nowym Fuse chodzi to bardzo fajnie. Teraz mocno promują nowego foila flare. Czekam na 1050 pod winga ale mają wypuścić 1400 na koniec sierpnia. Myślę że to dobra opcja do pompy dla ciebie bo rozpiętość też 110 ar 8.6, podobno szybki, zwrotny i bardzo pompowalny.

      @@MrGuzowski Dzięki. Właśnie kolega odebrał wczoraj tego flare 1050 i dobrze to wygląda. Fuselage podobno jest odchudzony. Takoon to na pewno dobra opcja. Na razie jestem obkupiony w F One, ale cały czas mam jeden zestaw Takoon 1700 oraz HM Maszt Takoon, więc mam cały czas otwartą opcję na Takoony. Obserwuję co się dzieje. Jak nie znajdę nic z F One pod te 1400 to pewnie spróbuję tego flare 1400 lub Pump 1500. Chcę jednak najpierw jeszcze sprawdzić Eagle 1290, bo zapowiada się dobrze z tym dużym AR.

      @@MrGuzowski Tzn. wtedy pewnie i tak cały samolot trzeba wymienić? Bo do tego nowego fuse pasują pewnie tylko nowe foile? Takoon uważam za świetny wybór. XS 940 nie odbiegał od SK8. Jedyne to w tym momencie brakowało mi w Takoon mniejszych lotek XS, bo 820 było najmniejsze i przeszkadzał mi trochę ciężki Fuselage. Długo czekałem aż Takoon zrobi coś nowego, ale po roku czasu od pierwszych plotek jeszcze nic nie było. W F One akurat były te SK8 i latam najchętniej na 650 i pewnie dokupię 550. Do tego F One jest bardzo lekkie i dobrze się z tym podróżuje liniami lotniczymi. Ale tak jak wsponiałem Takoon uważam za naprawdę świetny foil i często to podkreślam nawet na grupie Takoon na FB. Co do Skate, chyba za szybko się go pozbyłem 🙂Myślałem, że już nie wejdę na dock w przyszłości ale jednak się udało. Staram się być jednak ostrożny i nie przesadzać. Częściej odpoczywam i nie będę pompował w zimnych warunkach. Do tego regularnie się rozciągam.

      @buenacloud 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for your comment! No worries 🙂, yesterday I could wing with this set for over an hour until I was exhausted and had no more strength, so I had to take a break. You are right, I've been a kitefoiler for a few years. It certainly helps to manage that small board. DW boards are also a nice option. I have a hybrid board for light winds, but I use this board in spots where I can't start from the dock with my Naish Microchip. I also fly on my hybrid board when the water is cold or during the colder months, when I don't necessarily want to fall into the water. The advantage of the small board is that I can better pump between gusts if the wind dies down to 0 kts. My small board allows me to maneuver better and to feel better the foil. Cheers!

      Hi Rafael, I'm not familiar with your background. Do you have extensive experience with kitefoiling or wingfoiling, or are you starting from the beginning? If you are completely new to foiling, it might prove challenging. However, if you are already an experienced foiler, picking up new skills will be more straightforward. Starting with a larger foil, such as the JAM 1900 or the more affordable Takoon X-Glide V2 1950, could save you time. Based on my experience, you can quickly sell your initial gear once you're accustomed to pumpfoiling and upgrade with minimal financial loss. Hope this helps.

      Hi, last weekend I had the chance to try out the 1600, and I highly recommend it for wingfoiling in very light winds, like 5 knots. I was using the 1600 with a 5m Duotone Unit and Skywalker Ventana 85L. The wind ranged from zero to a maximum of 8 knots in gusts, yet I was able to wingfoil throughout. I managed to pump the foil through the lulls from one gust to the next. In my opinion, it's an excellent foil and much easier for wingfoiling than my Takoon X-Glide V2 1700.

      Leider habe ich den 1600er noch nicht ausprobiert. Ich habe mich vor ein paar Tagen verletzt und muss eine Pause einlegen. Als Ergänzung zum kleineren Foil wird der 1600er gut passen. Er wird für seine Größe schnell sein. Schon der 1900er ist schneller als vergleichbare andere Foils, und der 1600er ist deutlich kleiner. Ich würde dann nur einen kleineren Stabilisator nehmen, wenn es fürs Wingfoilen gedacht ist. Anstatt des 200er Pump vielleicht den 160er Carve oder den neuen 141er. Bald kommen die neuen 7 SS mit 1300 und 1500. Sie haben weniger Auftriebsverhältnis (AR) von 8 und werden bestimmt schneller sein, dafür aber weniger Gleitfähigkeit bieten. Ich behalte den 1600er für Leichtwindbedingungen, so ab 4-5 Knoten und zum Pumpen, falls ich es wieder kann. Viel Spaß!

      In comparison to brands like Takoon, Gong, and Axis, the F-One JAM 1900 appears to be a more modern shape. In my opinion, it offers more glide, significantly more lift and less drag-especially with the 14 mm mast-and it's easier to launch with less speed. Für mein Gewicht, damals 96 kg hat der Waketieth mir den AXIS PNG1150 empfohlen und er hat glaube ich nur 1750 cm2. Ich habe aber mit dem PNG1310 gestartet. Konnte eigentlich sofort damit fahren. Habe aber paar Tage später den 1950 von Takoon ausprobiert, der 5 mal günstiger was und habe den auch easy empfunden. Um es zusammenzufassen. Gong Sirus ist schön, fühlt sich aber sehr schwer am Bein. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass es mich nach unten zieht. Und ich kann damit schwer nach oben kommen. Trotzdem habe ich damit die Beste Zeit bis dahin gemacht. Ca. 5 min. Takoon ist sehr agil, verzeiht Fehler, ist eine günstige Möglichkeit in das Pumpfoiling einzusteigen. Ich pumpe seit paar Tagen einen FOne Jam 1900. Das leichteste, was ich bis dahin hatte. Sehr schön zum Pumpen. Ich glaube der ist auch einfach zum Erlernen. Hier noch mein Video zu Sirus: ruclips.net/video/C5sPvRc88os/видео.htmlsi=g0XvlVz2Ho8Ku2_b In paar Tagen stelle ich paar zum JAM1900 rein.

    Hej, Właśnie kupiłem sobie 940s i zastanawiam się właśnie nad stabem 195. Polecasz go? Trochę obawiam się, że poz mianie z c275 będzie bardzo niestabilnie i może wziąć coś o rozmiarze 250?

    • @buenacloud
      @buenacloud 5 месяцев назад

      Weź od razu 195. Jest bardzo stabilny, szybszy. Bardzo dobry. Polecam. Te większe, nawet 200 mają spory drag i trudno się rozpędzić.

    Strongly considering to buy one for low wing winging, did you had the chance to test the low wind performance of the board? Any feeling in how many knots you could be flying with a 5m^2 wing?

    • @buenacloud
      @buenacloud 5 месяцев назад

      HI Jannik, I can start at 8/10 kts with the Board depending on the size of the Foil and of the Wing. In the following vid it was about 10/11 kts and I was out with a 5,5m Unit and the SK 650 at my 95 kg weight (wet💦) ruclips.net/user/shortsZYGa43puows Hope it helps you a little.

      No 😊, I still have the other boards too, but in different locations so I don't have to carry them with me, when I'm flying between my spots.

      Hi Adam, my weight is over 90 kg. The 160 is perfect for the 1950. Good choice.

      @@buenacloud Do you think the 1950 Will be too slow/Inefficient for small riser weight?

    • @buenacloud
      @buenacloud 5 месяцев назад

      @@adametannecle2722 If you're a beginner, this will be ideal for you. After numerous sessions, you'll transition to a 1700 and then to a 1450, which will perfectly suit your weight. I also recommend switching to a Carbon Mast HM Slim 75 cm later on, which is slimmer than the aluminum mast and creates less drag. You'll be faster and less quickly fatigued. Later this year Takoon will probably introduce new foils for pumping. There's a rumor that they'll release 1300, 1500, and 1700 HA foils for downwind and pump, but I can't confirm its accuracy. Have a lot of fun and let me know how it works for you!
